Your Tea Ceremony Host
-
Tom began his tea journey as a child drinking earl grey with his grandmother looking over Lake Huron. To this day tea reminds Tom of her and brings forth both family and nature connections.
A little later in life it was the caffeine effects along with trying different mixes for the taste that kept Tom intrigued. Usually this was while studying, rushing around, trying to be somewhere or get something done. Tom noticed a loss of the heart and nature connection he gained from tea as a child.
It was much later in life that Tom returned to this way with tea, inviting back the connection with nature, others, and his inner self. It all started when a friend invited him over for a tea ceremony. Tom was mesmerized by the experience, the movements, the silence, the smells, the taste, the mindfulness, and open-heart space he experienced.
That was 8 years ago. Since then, to learn more about tea, Tom has been to the Tea Sage Hut in Taiwan twice, has a daily tea and meditation practice, and is an active member of the Global Tea Hut community. Tom hosts tea ceremonies publicly, privately, and now virtually. Tea has brought many lessons including how to allow one’s heart to express itself in the container of ceremonial space. Tom is deeply honoured to be of service to her and to provide this sacred space for others to meet her too.
